Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal information this website collects, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We have written it in plain English.

Applied Brewing Solutions ("we", "us") provides brewing, distilling and beverage production consulting in Nigeria and West Africa, and sells homebrewing equipment, supplies and training through this website. We are based in Lagos, Nigeria.

  • When you send an enquiry through the contact form: your name, email address, phone number (optional), company (optional), the service you are interested in, and your message.
  • How you found us: the website you came from, any campaign tags in the link (such as utm_source), and the page you first landed on. This is kept in your browser for the length of your visit and sent to us with your enquiry, so we can see which channels bring enquiries.
  • How the site is used: pages visited, the type of device and browser, and approximate location, collected by Google Analytics (only if you accept analytics cookies) and by Vercel Web Analytics (which does not use cookies).
  • If you contact us by email or WhatsApp: your email address or phone number, and what you send us.
  • When you buy something or book training: your name, email address and phone number, what you ordered, the order total, and, for products, your delivery address (country, state or region, city or town, street address and any delivery notes). Your card or bank details are entered on Paystack's payment page and are never seen or stored by us. If you pay by bank transfer, we see what your bank shows us about the payment, such as the sender's name and account details.
  • When you ask for a training date: your name, email address or phone number, group size, preferred timing and message.
  • Your cart: the items you add to your cart are kept in your browser so they are still there when you come back. They are not sent to us until you start checkout.

We do not sell your personal information.

  • To reply to your enquiry and carry out any work you ask us for.
  • To process and confirm your order or booking, take payment, arrange delivery, and send you a receipt and any joining details.
  • To understand how the site is used and which channels bring enquiries, so we can improve it.
  • To keep records for our business and to meet our legal obligations.

The site uses analytics cookies and browser storage. They are described in our cookie policy.

We use service providers to run the site. They handle personal information only to provide their service to us.

  • Our email service, which delivers the enquiry to us and sends you confirmations and receipts.
  • Paystack, which takes your payment. It receives your name, email address and the payment details you enter, under its own privacy policy.
  • Couriers or delivery partners, who receive your name, phone number and delivery address when we arrange delivery of a product.
  • Google, for Google Analytics.
  • Vercel, which hosts the site and provides Web Analytics.
  • Sanity, which holds the site's content and our order and booking records.
  • WhatsApp (Meta), if you choose to message us there.

Some of these providers store or process data outside Nigeria, so your information may be transferred internationally. We choose established providers and share only what the service needs.

We keep enquiries for as long as we need them to deal with your request and for our business records, and then delete or archive them. We keep order and payment records for as long as we need them to deal with your order, to handle any problem with it, and to meet our accounting and legal obligations. Analytics data is kept for the period set in our Google Analytics settings.

Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 you can ask us to:

  • tell you what personal information we hold about you and give you a copy;
  • correct information that is wrong;
  • delete your information, or restrict how we use it;
  • stop using it for a purpose you object to, or withdraw consent where we rely on it.

The site uses HTTPS, limits who can access submitted enquiries, and filters out automated spam. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot promise absolute security.

This site is for businesses and adults. It is not aimed at anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page.
